The Indian Premier League seen a lot of records been set and broken since the first ever match been played. However, there are only a very few records that might not be broken or tough to be broken in near future. Here, we look at 7 records in IPL that might be tough to break.
List of 7 records in IPL that might be tough to break:
1.Chris Gayle’s 175:
It took 5 years for breaking Brendon McCullum’s 158* recorded in first ever game of IPL when Chris Gayle smashed an amazing 175. The earlier score couldn’t be broken either in the twenty20 format shows how tough is scoring 150 in the shortest format of the game. Hence the record of individual high score in IPL by Gayle; will require another Gayle to break it.List of 7 records in IPL that might be tough to break:
1.Chris Gayle’s 175:
2.Chris Gayle’s 30 ball century:
During his knock of 175, Gayle went past his hundred in 30 deliveries, not only the fastest in IPL but also the fastest century in overall recognized Cricket. The previous fastest century in IPL was in 37 balls by Yusuf Pathan in 2010, but Gayle betrayed it by 7 balls making it much tougher to break it.
3.Suresh Raina scoring 400-plus runs in 7 seasons:
Suresh Raina has been the most consistent batsman in the history of IPL as the left hander not only holds the record for most runs in IPL, but has a record of scoring 400 runs in 7 editions of IPL. By the time someone tries to equal Raina’s record of scoring 400 runs in 7 consecutive seasons, he might score 400 runs in few more seasons consecutively and make it impossible to break
4.Amit Mishra 3 hattricks:
Picking up a hattrick isn’t a joke in any form of Cricket and Amit Mishra has done it three times in the Indian Premier League itself. It might be a tough task for bowlers to even get a hattrick and picking up 3 hattricks with be near to dream. Only other player to Amit Mishra, who picked up more than one hattrick in IPL was Yuvraj Singh, who is more a part-time bowler
5.Chennai Super Kings qualifying to play offs every time:
Chennai Super Kings has been the most consistent team in IPL by a far means. Not just two titles on their name, but they managed to qualify for play-offs in every edition of IPL. They have qualified for the next round in all 7 seasons so far i.e., consecutively 7 times. Next stood Mumbai Indians with 5 consecutive times. Even in the present season, CSK seems like to be qualifying and make it 8 times in a row.
6.Royal Challengers Bangalore’s score of 263/5:
Courtesy of Gayle’s 175 at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bangalore recorded the highest team score in IPL with 263/5. This total was also the highest ever total in Twenty20 format. Till they recorded the record score, the team scores in IPL never crossed 250, showing how tough it will be to cross RCB’s 263. Unless someone like Gayle performs extraordinarily, the RCB’s record total will stay at the top.
7.Suresh Raina’s consecutive matches for Chennai Super Kings:
Not only with the consistency with bat, the Indian star batsman Suresh Raina had record of playing every possible match that has been played by Chennai Super Kings. Raina, so far played 116 matches, the same played by Chennai Super Kings. It will be tough for any player to break this record as not one has nearly played 100 consecutive matches for a single side. Given the way Raina is playing at the moment, he would keep his record intact and keep betraying untill he gets injured
