India, after winning the first Test of the four-match series by an innings and 92 runs, enjoyed time away from cricket. With the match against West Indies decided inside the first four days, the cricketers enjoyed their day off by competing in FIFA on the PlayStation, and enjoying the beach.
Beach has been the most sought after destination for this young unit. They were baking under the sun before the series commenced, and were back at it after getting the tour off to a positive start.
Every team member spent their day off doing stuff they enjoy the most. Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara were on the console while Wriddhiman Saha hit the waves.
Rohit Sharma chose to be indoors as the right-hander was glued to Netflix on his ipad. It has been an eventful week for India in the West Indies. From winning the Test to drawing praise from Viv Richards, all has happened within a week.
In another interesting revelation, Richards’ son Mali is a Kohli fan and son of the West Indies legend gifted India’s Test captain a painting.
The second Test gets underway on July 30 and the visitors would like to take a safe 2-0 lead in the series. West Indies were outplayed in the opener and the hosts need to get their balance right when the second Test gets underway.
For India, it was an all-bases checked performance with the battters scoring runs and the bowlers responding well by bowling out the opposition twice.
